All switching guides
If the window is the product, stay. If the process is the product, leave.
Warp meters AI and asks for an account. 1SessionTool has no required telemetry and no required cloud account. Those are different products.
Stay if this is you. People who want an AI-first terminal with Warp's blocks and agent, and who are fine creating an account.
The window owns life
Close Warp and you close the terminal. muxd is a server process. Closing 1SessionTool does not kill the pane.
An account in the loop
1SessionTool is self-host first. Local is a socket bound to the user. Remote is mutual auth per server.
AI is not the session
Spawn whatever CLI you already pay for. We do not sell a metered model inside the multiplexer.
If you do switch
- No required account.
- The server owns life. Clients are views.
- Attach from another OS or a phone.
- One-time license instead of a metered AI plan.
